The successful candidate will take ownership of the full sales cycle, generating new business opportunities, developing relationships with senior decision-makers, and closing high-value commercial opportunities. Working closely with the leadership team, this role offers genuine autonomy, strong earning potential, and the opportunity to play a key role in driving the company's continued growth.Roles & ResponsibilitiesIdentify and develop new business opportunities across pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and life sciences organisations through proactive prospecting and outbound sales activityGenerate qualified meetings through a combination of cold outreach, LinkedIn, networking, referrals, conferences, and marketing-generated leadsBuild and manage a healthy pipeline of opportunities, taking ownership of the sales process from initial engagement through to contract signatureConduct discovery meetings and needs analysis to understand customer challenges and identify suitable commercial solutionsDeliver tailored demonstrations and presentations to scientific, technical, and commercial stakeholdersWork closely with internal technical and delivery teams to develop bespoke commercial proposals that address customer requirementsNegotiate commercial agreements and successfully close new business opportunitiesRepresent the business at industry conferences, networking events, and customer meetings across the UK and internationally where requiredEssential CriteriaPrevious experience in a quota-carrying Business Development, Sales Executive, Account Executive, or full-cycle sales roleProven ability to generate new business through proactive prospecting while managing opportunities through to successful closeExperience selling technical solutions, SaaS, cloud software, technology services, life sciences or professional services within a B2B environmentSelf-motivated, resilient, and target-driven with the ability to work independently in a high-growth environmentDesirable CriteriaExperience selling into the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, healthcare, or life sciences sectorsBackground in bioinformatics, genomics, computational biology, precision medicine, or related scientific disciplinesExperience selling complex technical solutions or professional servicesKnowledge of AI, cloud platforms, data analytics, or life sciences software solutionsWhat's On OfferCompetitive base salary of up to £45,000 depending on experienceUncapped commission structure with up to 10% commission on qualifying dealsHybrid working with flexibilityEmployer pension contributionPrivate medical insurance25 days annual leave plus public holidaysTraining and professional development budgetA collaborative and innovative working environment with genuine opportunities to develop your career as the business continues to growHow To ApplyTo speak in absolute confidence about this opportunity please send an up to date CV via the link provided or contact Charlie Plant, Associate Specialist Consultant at MCS Group on .Even if this position is not right for you, we may have others that are.
