As part of a major platform transformation, the engineering team is rebuilding critical systems from the ground up, embracing AI-native development practices and migrating services to Go. The focus is on creating highly scalable distributed systems while driving platform performance towards sub-50ms late ncy. The Opport unity As a Senior Backend Engineer, you'll play a key role in shaping the next generation of the platfo rm by: Building and scaling high-performance backend service s in GoDesigning and delivering distributed systems capable of handling significant scale and thuputDriving performance optimisation and low-latency architecture init iativesContributing to the modernisation and rewrite of core platform s ervicesCollaborating closely with platform, infrastructure, and product engi neerin g Skills Strong commercial experience developing backend systems ideally with Go (Would consider Java o r Python)5+ years' experience building scalable, distributed app licationsDeep understanding of concurrency, systems design, and performance opt imisationExperience working on low-latency and/or high-throughput platformsComfortable operating in fast-moving, high-growth env ironmentsInterest in AI-assisted development and modern en gineeri ng PackageUp to £135,000 base salary, bonus, equity - Remote first with the expectation to travel to London 2-3 times a quarter
