Senior SAP Developer

The Senior SAP Developer develops clean core-compliant SAP enhancements, services, and user experiences aligned to enterprise standards and delivery priorities. As Officeworks scales its S/4HANA and BTP landscapes, this role solves the problem of technical debt by building performant and maintainable solutions that adhere to modern architectural standards. This role acts as a technical specialist in ABAP, RAP, and Fiori, ensuring that user experiences and system enhancements directly support business-critical operations.

In this role you will:

Technical Development & Enhancement:

• Build enhancements, APIs, and Fiori apps across SAP S/4HANA and BTP landscapes.
• Ensure high-quality, performant, and maintainable SAP developments that align with enterprise standards.
• Fix defects and resolve technical issues within defined and complex problem spaces.
• Maintain code quality accountability for all technical deliverables.
• Achieve key performance indicators related to test coverage, defect density, and deployment success.

Governance & Clean Core Compliance:

• Develop solutions that are strictly clean core-compliant to ensure long-term landscape stability.
• Utilise BTP for side-by-side extensions in accordance with enterprise strategic objectives.
• Ensure all requirements and documentation comply with governance and security standards.
• Maintain documentation in compliance with applicable laws and policies.

Technical Accountability & Safety:

• Demonstrate a strong sense of accountability for personal performance and code quality.
• Identify and report site hazards or incidents and participate in safety improvements.
• Actively manage safety issues to ensure timely corrective action is taken.

Who you will be working with:

• Internal Delivery Teams: SAP BTP Administrator, Integration Developers, and SAP BTP Developers.
• Internal Partners: Business Analysts, Functional Analysts, and Test Engineers.
• External Partners: SAP and Development Partners.

• Quality Standards: Maintaining a code quality defect density <3% and test coverage 80%.
• Operational Excellence: Achieving a deployment success rate >98% and sprint delivery reliability 90%.
• Strategic Alignment: Maintaining 90% Clean Core (BTP usage) compliance.

Qualifications and work experience:

Essential:

• Education: Degree in I.T., Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum 8 years of SAP development experience.
• Specialist Knowledge: Expert knowledge in clean core development and code quality.
• Core Competencies: Strong collaboration and communication skills.
• Technology Proficiency: ABAP, RAP, SAP Fiori, S/4HANA, BTP, Event Mesh, and CI/CD Toolchains.
