Senior Financial Analyst

Senior Accountant Toronto, ON | Hybrid Salary: $90,000 - $100,000 Our client is looking for a Senior Accountant to join their finance team. This position will be responsible for financial reporting, month-end close, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow analysis, reconciliations, audit support, and process improvements. The successful candidate will have a strong accounting foundation combined with hands-on experience in a real estate or construction environment.

Responsibilities Financial Reporting & Accounting Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities Prepare journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations Maintain the general ledger and ensure accuracy of financial records Prepare monthly bank reconciliations Complete HST filings and remittances Prepare quarterly cash flow analysis and monitor cash requirements Analyze financial results and investigate variances Assist with preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements Budgeting & Forecasting Lead annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes Prepare supporting schedules, assumptions, and financial models Analyze variances between actuals, budget, and forecast Identify trends, risks, and opportunities Support management decision-making through financial analysis and scenario planning Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable Oversee invoicing, collections, and intercompany chargebacks Monitor aging reports and follow up on outstanding balances Reconcile subledgers to the general ledger Review cash position reports and prepare electronic payments Audit & Compliance Prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation Assist with interim and year-end audits Ensure compliance with accounting policies and internal controls Recommend process improvements and efficiencies Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field CPA designation or working towards CPA is preferred 3+ years of accounting experience within real estate or construction Strong financial reporting experience Experience with budgeting, forecasting, cash flow analysis, and variance reporting Advanced Excel skills Experience with Yardi is an asset Excellent analytical and communication skills Important DO NOT APPLY IF YOU DO NOT HAVE: Real estate or construction accounting experience Budgeting and forecasting experience Corporate accounting and financial reporting experience Only candidates with relevant real estate accounting experience will be considered.
