Job Description: MEP Take-off Specialist (US Projects) Position Title: MEP Take-off Specialist Department: Preconstruction / Engineering Support Location: Banaswadi, Bangalore
Position Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented MEP Take-off Specialist to support U.S. construction projects through accurate quantity take-offs and scope quantification for Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection systems. The role involves reviewing construction drawings, specifications, and BIM models to produce precise material quantities and technical take-off deliverables that support estimating and preconstruction teams.
Key Responsibilities • Mechanical (HVAC) Take-offs • Perform quantity take-offs for ductwork, fittings, accessories, insulation, and supports. • Quantify HVAC equipment including AHUs, RTUs, FCUs, VAVs and associated components. • Prepare take-offs for hydronic, chilled water and refrigerant piping systems. • Develop equipment counts and package-level quantity summaries. • Electrical Take-offs • Prepare quantity take-offs for conduits, cable trays, feeders, panels, switchgear, and electrical devices.• Interpret electrical plans, one-line diagrams, risers and panel schedules. • Quantify components for power distribution and specialty electrical systems. • Plumbing / Fire Protection Take-offs • Perform quantity take-offs for domestic water, sanitary, vent, storm and fire protection systems. • Quantify fixtures, valves, fittings, accessories and specialty components. • Extract quantities using plans, risers, schedules and details. • Drawing Review & Scope Analysis • Review U.S. construction documents, specifications and coordinated models. • Interpret project scope based on drawings, details and CSI divisions. • Identify drawing discrepancies, scope gaps and missing information affecting take-off accuracy. • Update and reconcile quantities based on drawing revisions. • Documentation & Deliverables • Prepare detailed quantity take-off reports and summaries. • Produce marked-up drawings and quantity backup documentation. • Maintain organized take-off logs and revision comparison records. • Support scope package quantification by trade, area or system. Required Qualifications • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical or related Engineering discipline. • 2-5 + years of experience in MEP quantity take-offs, estimating support, or preconstruction services.• Experience working on U.S. commercial, industrial, or mission critical projects preferred. • Strong understanding of Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing systems.
Required Skills • Proficiency in reading U.S. construction drawings and specifications. • Strong knowledge of MEP quantity take-off methodologies. • Familiarity with CSI Master Format (Divisions 21, 22, 23, 26, 27, 28). • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail. • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
