Position Summary
The Principal will serve as the academic and administrative head of the institution, providing strategic leadership to advance academic excellence, institutional growth, governance, and stakeholder engagement. The role requires a visionary leader with a strong understanding of aided college administration, higher education governance, accreditation systems, and institutional development.
Key Responsibilities :
Provide strategic, academic, and administrative leadership for the overall growth and advancement of the institutionLead curriculum development and implementation in alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP), multidisciplinary education, and emerging higher education trendsPromote innovative pedagogy, technology-enabled learning, outcome-based education, and industry-academia collaboration.Foster a strong culture of research, innovation, publications, projects, and academic excellence.Drive faculty development through mentoring, leadership development, performance enhancement, and continuous professional learning initiatives.Ensure compliance with GNDU regulations, UGC guidelines, NAAC accreditation requirements, statutory norms, and aided college regulationsOversee quality assurance, IQAC initiatives, academic planning, institutional governance, budgeting, infrastructure, and operational effectiveness.Promote holistic student development through academics, cultural activities, entrepreneurship, community engagement, and career readiness initiativesBuild and maintain strong relationships with university authorities, regulatory bodies, industry partners, alumni, and other key stakeholders.
Eligibility Criteria
Ph.D. with consistently strong academic credentials and eligibility as per UGC norms.Minimum 15 years of teaching and academic administration experience in higher education intuitionspublications in peer-reviewed/UGC-listed journals and fulfilment of UGC-prescribed research requirements.Experience in academic administration, accreditation, quality assurance, and institutional governance.Experience in managing or working with aided and affiliated colleges will be strongly preferred.
Desired Competencies.
Strong understanding of aided college administration, higher education governance, and university affiliation systems.Sound knowledge of GNDU regulations, UGC guidelines, NAAC accreditation frameworks, and statutory compliance requirements.Demonstrated ability to lead curriculum reforms, NEP implementation, faculty development, research promotion, and academic innovation.Strong leadership, communication, stakeholder management, and institution-building capabilities .Commitment to academic excellence, creativity, ethics, inclusivity, and value-based education.Experience in Fine Arts, Performing Arts, Design, Media Studies, Commerce, Information Technology, Humanities.
