Location Either Strathcona Edmonton refinery or Calgary head office location Schedule Monday to Friday Planning and Scheduling Engineer III is a technical planning and scheduling role supporting major project delivery in an engineering and project controls environment. Role Context This company operates within a project environment that requires strong planning and scheduling capability, advanced Primavera Project Planner (P6) expertise, and a clear focus on schedule development, control, forecasting, and progress measurement. About the Role The Planning and Scheduling Engineer III is responsible for developing and maintaining the overall project schedule, supporting progress measurement, and providing analysis that helps the project team identify trends, manage change, and support informed decision-making.
Key Responsibilities Deliver planning support for the project and project schedule. Build and maintain the overall project schedule, progress measurement, and change management support. Develop schedules for Gate Reviews, funding investment decisions, and execution phases.
Lead integrated project teams in planning and scheduling activities. Review contractor schedules for logic, detail, timing, and alignment with the project plan and work breakdown structure. Monitor schedule performance, trends, and forecast impacts to support project management decisions.
Develop and review schedule corrective actions and recovery plans. Support project change reviews by assessing schedule impact and incorporating approved changes into reporting. Required Experience & Qualifications Bachelors of Science Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Construction Management. 15+ years in Planning/Scheduling and/or Project Controls and/or Project Services.
Strong Owner's side front-end project planning skills. Experience in developing and managing Engineering & Procurement schedules. Advanced competency in Primavera Project Planner (P6).
