National Account Manager At ALS, we encourage you to dream big. Location: Remote (Coventry as main operational site) Hours per week: 37 Days per week: Monday to Friday Basis: Full Time and Permanent Key Responsibilities Lead key client relationships and build strong multi-level stakeholder networks.
Act as senior escalation point for commercially or operationally significant issues, ensuring timely resolution. Run regular client meetings and service reviews to protect performance and uncover opportunities. Deliver structured key account plans focused on retention, growth and profitability (ROS).
Identify and execute organic growth opportunities within existing accounts, including expanded scope, increased share of spend and deeper partnerships. Lead tenders, bids and complex commercial opportunities, ensuring high‑quality submissions. Own pricing for new opportunities and major projects, aligned to EBIT/ROS targets.
Maintain oversight of contract costs and performance. Represent ALS externally and stay current on relevant regulations, market trends and testing innovations. Partner with sales, commercial and operational teams to grow ALS Environmental’s Water & Land business.
Required Qualifications Proven experience in senior account management / key account management / national account management within a technical B2B environment (ideally environmental testing, water hygiene services, analytical services or closely related sectors). Background in microbiology testing in a client‑facing role is beneficial. Track record of protecting and growing high‑value accounts through structured account planning and stakeholder management.
Strong commercial acumen, including pricing, tendering, margin/ROS focus and contract performance management. Experience leading cross‑functional account activity with sales, commercial and operational teams. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the credibility to engage senior client stakeholders.
Proactive, resilient and collaborative approach, with strong ownership and follow‑through. Benefits Annual leave commencing at 25 days (rising to 30) plus 8 public holidays (pro‑rata for part time). Ability to buy annual leave.
