Job Title: Legal CashierLocation: EdinburghSalary: Competitive, based on experience Our client, a well-established professional services firm, is seeking an experienced Legal Cashier to join their Finance team in Edinburgh. The cashiering team is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records across multiple entities, including both general and client ledger transactions. This role will involve delivering high-quality, compliant legal cashiering support in a fast-paced environment.Key ResponsibilitiesAllocate and process all bank receipts across client and office accountsSet up and review electronic payments (CHAPS, BACS, Faster Payments and international transfers), ensuring compliance with Anti-Money Laundering requirementsProcess financial transactions within the firm's financial management system, including payments, receipts, transfers, and billing activityManage client-designated bank accounts, including account openings, closures, and daily transactional activityReview and process cheque requests in line with internal policies and service level expectationsInvestigate and resolve outstanding items identified through daily bank reconciliations, including unallocated funds and stale chequesLiaise with senior stakeholders and internal teams regarding client and office account transactionsPrepare and submit regular cheque and cash bankingCalculate and process client account interest (monthly and ad hoc as required)Maintain accurate electronic records to support regulatory and audit requirementsProvide support during the annual audit processContribute to team meetings and continuous improvement of cashiering processes and documentationAssist with additional ad hoc finance duties as requiredCandidate ProfilePrevious experience in a legal cashiering or similar finance roleStrong understanding of client account rules and compliance requirementsHigh level of accuracy and attention to detailExperience working with financial systems and electronic banking platformsStrong organisational and communication skillsAbility to manage workload effectively in a deadline-driven environment Please send your CV to Rosie Hutcheon, or call via the 'Apply Now' option to be considered for the role.
