Job Description
These roles focus on the design and delivery of power electronics hardware that integrates tightly with firmware, power subsystems, and mechanical assemblies. The right candidate brings strong hands-on engineering skills and the drive to contribute meaningfully across the full product development cycle. Key ResponsibilitiesAssist in the design, development, and validation of PCBAs for CES energy productsSupport full product lifecycle activities: schematic design, layout guidance, board bring-up, lab validation, and design for test and manufactureContribute to designs for analog signal conditioning, digital interfaces, MCUs, sensors, and communication buses (CAN, UART, RS-485, and others)Partner closely with firmware, mechanical, test, and manufacturing teams to deliver production-ready designsParticipate in design reviews and support team development initiativesAssist with sustaining improvements and field issue resolution as products mature Minimum QualificationsBSEE or MSEE with 4+ years of experience in power electronics hardware developmentStrong background in electronics design, embedded systems, and board-level hardware architectureHands-on lab experience with board bring-up, validation, debugging, and test toolsFamiliarity with design constraints related to thermal management, EMC, safety, and manufacturabilityProven ability to execute cross-functionally in new product development environmentsExperience with design documentation and ECO control processesBackground with high-reliability products in demanding, long-warranty environmentsExperience in PCB engineering including fabrication, assembly, thermal management, and connector/cable design
Preferred QualificationsExperience with energy systems, IoT devices, or embedded hardware in regulated environmentsExposure to compliance testing (UL/IEC/EMC) and design transfer to contract manufacturingExperience shipping products at scale - 1M+ unitsKnowledge of low-power design, sensor integration, or signal integrity optimizationEmbedded firmware development experienceUnderstanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals - stress/strain, 1D thermodynamics, and common manufacturing techniques
