Job Description
Job PurposeTo oversee daily injection moulding production operations, ensuring maximum equipment efficiency, stringent quality control, and optimal resource utilization. This role focuses on driving process optimization, minimizing scrap rates, and leading a high-performing technical team to meet Quality of critical Products.
Key Responsibilities
- Production & Process OptimizationManage daily production schedules to ensure targeted Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and Output-vs-Plan metrics are achieved.Optimize injection moulding process parameters.Lead systematic troubleshooting of moulding defects .Drive continuous improvement initiatives utilizing Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and 5S methodologies to eliminate waste and rejection. 2. Mold Validation & Technical Trial ManagementOversee new mold trials and systematic mold validation processesCollaborate with the tooling department to ensure preventive mold maintenance is performed and tool life is maximized.Execute raw material consumption calculations3. Maintenance & Asset ManagementImplement and sustain Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) practices, focusing heavily on Autonomous Maintenance (Jishu Hozen) at the shop floor level.Coordinate with the maintenance team to schedule planned preventive maintenance (PPM) for injection moulding machines, robots, and auxiliary equipment (chillers, dehumidifiers, and material loaders) to minimize unplanned downtime. 4. Quality Assurance & ComplianceEnsure absolute compliance with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 13485) by enforcing the use of 7 Quality Control (QC) Tools for root-cause analysis.Maintain rigorous process documentation, including parameters sheets, shift logs, production reports, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).5. Leadership & Shop Floor ManagementSupervise, mentor, and develop shift engineers, supervisors, and operators, identifying skill gaps and conducting technical training.Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols, ensuring a zero-accident environment on the production floor.
Core Competencies & Technical SkillsProcess Expertise: Deep technical knowledge of scientific injection moulding, machine tonnage matching, material rheology, and hot runner systems.Problem Solving: Proven expertise in structured root-cause analysis (e.g., 5-Why, Fishbone diagrams,).Operational Excellence: Strong familiarity with SMED (Single-Minute Exchange of Die) for rapid mold changeovers and reducing setup times.Software Proficiency: Experience working with ERP systemsEducation: Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in Plastics Engineering, Polymer Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or a CIPET graduate certification.Experience: 15+ years of hands-on experience in a high-volume injection moulding environment, with at least 5-6 years in a supervisory or senior engineering capacity.
