EXPERIENCE

• Current Iowa licensure as a Registered Nurse • Minimum of 2 year acute care

experience

Healthcare Provider BLS certification ACLS certification preferred • Mandatory Abuse Reporter Certification within 6 months of hire • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English well. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF JOB • Under limited supervision, provides direct patient care • Plans, directs, and evaluates total nursing care for Med-Surg patients as directed • Relates effectively with other shifts for continuity of care; maintains satisfactory relations with other departments

education

al and discharge needs in formulating the plan of care • Identifies problems and guides personnel to their solution • Creates a working climate that provides growth and job satisfaction of coworkers • Administers medications and intravenous solutions skillfully and correctly • Maintains the standards of accurate and complete recording and reporting • Arranges to have needed supplies and equipment on hand • Carries out nursing interventions safely and accurately utilizing knowledge, judgment and skill to implement physicians' orders and the nursing plan of care • Evaluates patient/family responses to implementation of the plan of care and modifies plan of care based on these responses • Prioritizes workload • Performs documentation in the patient's record accurately, concisely and in a timely manner • Demonstrates effective communication
