Physician Assistant | Surgery - Vascular Location: New Hampshire Employer: Barton Associates Pay: Competitive weekly pay (inquire for details) Start Date: ASAP About the Position Our client is seeking a Cardiovascular & Thoracic Surgery Physician Assistant for a 64-day assignment in NH, starting May 11, 2026. This role involves comprehensive preoperative care, intraoperative first assisting in complex cardiac and thoracic procedures, and robust postoperative management, including a rotating call schedule on weekdays and weekends. Responsibilities and Duties Provide comprehensive preoperative care, including conducting H&Ps, ordering and interpreting diagnostics, obtaining consents, and preparing patients for surgery. Serve as first assist for full spectrum cardiovascular and thoracic surgical cases, including CABG, valve repairs/replacements, and thoracic procedures such as lobectomy and aneurysm repair. Perform vein and artery harvesting, with 100% required experience in endovascular vein harvesting. Manage intraoperative tasks such as controlling hemostasis, closing wounds, and managing chest tubes. Oversee postoperative patient management, including rounding in ICU and step-down units, managing drains and wounds, monitoring for complications, educating patients, and coordinating discharges.
