Job Description
Job Title: Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Manager Location: USA (Multiple States) Contract Length - 6 months The HSE Manager is responsible for overseeing the Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) compliance programs. This role involves developing, implementing, and managing safety policies and procedures to ensure the health and safety of all employees, contractors, and visitors while minimizing environmental impact. The HSE Manager will ensure compliance with OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) regulations, environmental laws, and company policies, fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop, implement, and maintain health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures in alignment with federal, state, and local regulations. * Identify and assess HSE risks, and implement strategies to mitigate hazards in the workplace. * Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to ensure workplace safety standards are met and address any non-compliance issues. * Ensure full compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and other regulatory agencies' safety and environmental regulations. * Prepare and submit necessary safety reports, logs, and incident documentation to regulatory agencies as required. * Stay up-to-date with regulatory changes and ensure the organization's practices are adjusted accordingly. * Develop and conduct safety training programs for employees, contractors, and visitors, covering topics such as emergency procedures, PPE usage, and safe work practices. * Coordinate ongoing safety awareness programs and ensure employees are well-informed of hazards and safety procedures. * Lead investigations into accidents, injuries, and near-misses to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions. * Maintain detailed records of incidents and accidents, ensuring proper documentation and follow-up on corrective actions. * Oversee environmental management systems to ensure compliance with environmental laws and regulations. * Collaborate with senior management to establish and promote a strong safety culture throughout the organization. * Provide guidance and leadership to safety committees, department heads, and other key stakeholders to implement HSE initiatives. * Develop and maintain emergency response plans, including fire drills, evacuation procedures, and spill response plans. * Oversee hazard identification, risk assessments, and emergency preparedness activities to mitigate potential risks. Qualifications
*
Experience
managing and leading HSE programs, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. * Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or similar certification preferred. * OSHA 30-hour Construction or General Industry Certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months). * Environmental certifications such as Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) certifications are a plus. * In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations, environmental laws, and safety standards. * Ability to design and implement HSE training programs and facilitate workshops. * Excellent written and verbal communication
skills
with the ability to engage employees at all levels. *
Experience
