Job Description East Central Alberta Catholic Separate School Division is seeking an applicant to serve as a Wellness Coach. A Wellness Coach is part of an integrated multidisciplinary team approach in providing mental wellness promotion, prevention, education, and crisis intervention services to children, youth, and their families within a school setting. The Wellness Coach will research best practices in developing programming for students and will primarily deliver universal services, with a few targeted groups as needed.
The Wellness Coach will work closely with the Family School Liaison Worker to provide a full complement of mental wellness programs. This fixed‑term contract runs from 25 August 2026 to 25 June 2027. The Wellness Coach will report to the Assistant Superintendent, Liberty Stafford.
Services will be provided to Christ‑King Catholic School in Stettler and Theresetta Catholic School in Castor. The position is 0.6 FTE across the 10 months of the school year, split between the two schools. Preference will be given to applicants with knowledge, training, or previous experience in mental health and community engagement. This position will close when suitable candidates are found. Although all applications are appreciated, only candidates selected for interviews will be contacted.
Education Degree in Human Services Experience with and knowledge of the workflow of K-12 education settings Mental Health awareness and community engagement experiences Qualifications / Skills Committed to achieving school and district assurance outcomes for students and staff Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and a desire to serve others Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to coordinate learning activities for students, staff and parents Growth mindset and a desire to grow and learn professionally Diverse experience and expertise in organizing and facilitating activities, and collaborating with community agencies Ability to integrate technology to enhance and support learning outcomes Highly motivated and self‑directed, requiring minimal guidance and supervision Duties Work collaboratively with school staff to identify areas of need in the mental wellness of students Research, develop, coordinate and deliver universal mental wellness prevention programs to students and their families Provide resources and information to students and their families on various mental wellness topics Develop and facilitate presentations and activities on various mental wellness topics for students and their families Provide immediate short‑term response, including problem solving, coping, and crisis management skills for students until they are connected to an appropriate service provider Create physical and social environments that support the acquisition of healthy relationships, positive skills and opportunities for mental health and physical well‑being of students and their families Other duties as assigned #J-18808-Ljbffr
