The VP, Risk Management will be a key member of the First American Finance team. The role provides the opportunity for the development of risk programs, internal controls, and providing research and analytical support to the business; as it relates to risk, compliance and audit areas.
The candidate must have excellent quantitative and analytical skills, along with the ability to apply those skills across a variety of business processes. Most of the candidate’s time will be spent working with City National Bank, First American’s parent company. The candidate must show the ability to communicate and collaborate with a variety of internal and external colleagues effectively, and communicate complex information in a simple straightforward manner.
Compensation
Base pay range: $70,000.00/yr - $120,000.00/yr
The salary range for this position is $70,000 - $120,000 depending on experience.
Responsibilities
- Lead and support the execution of various Risk Assessments across our business
- Source and analyze risk metric data to support decision-making and reporting
- Prepare tailored risk reports for various audiences, including senior management
- Maintain and enhance a centralized library of procedures and documentation
- Develop and deliver training sessions on risk management topics to colleagues across the organization
- Promote risk awareness and accountability throughout the organization
- Conduct policy and compliance reviews, which will include liaising with internal and external auditors
- Assist in the maturation of internal controls, maintaining both Risk and Control Registers
- Research ongoing regulatory changes and determine the potential impact on the business
- Develop and maintain relationships with First American’s parent company, City National Bank
- Understand and communicate industry-specific regulations and requirements of OCC Heightened Standards
- Participate in other risk-related initiatives and projects as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- At least 3 years of experience in risk management, audit, finance, or accounting
- Professional certifications such as CRM, FRM, CPA are a plus
- Experience with regulatory requirements of the financial industry (e.g., Heightened Standards), and with tools and applications such as Salesforce and Archer
