Job Description
Key Qualities We're SeekingExcellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skillsStrategic thinking and problem-solvingClient-centric mindset with operational excellenceLeadership and people managementStrong risk and compliance orientation Key ResponsibilitiesLead, coach and develop a team of trade finance specialists by assigning tasks, setting priorities and ensuring efficient workload distribution.To ensure the prompt, accurate and compliant execution of all trade finance transactions, including:Processing and monitoring of import letters of credit (LC) and their drafts.Management of bank guarantees and claims declarations.Monitoring of documentary submissions (collections) for import/export (companies and raw materials).Trade-related loan operations (import/export, raw materials, discounting, rollover, non-performing) in Loan IQ.Management of credit participations and bank refinancing.Validate entries in back-office systems (Flexcube, Loan IQ, Calypso/SWIFT Alliance) and supervise the generation of customer/bank entries and notices.Ensure strict adherence to KYC and AML procedures, including ship screening and other essential compliance checks.Ensure full compliance with international regulations (UCP 600, ISP98, URDG, Incoterms 2010).Identify and implement continuous improvements to operational processes to optimize efficiency, reduce risks and improve service quality.Collaborating with the front office, compliance and IT departments to resolve operational issues and technical challenges.Train and mentor team members to develop their technical expertise and operational skills.Evaluate team performance, identify training needs and implement personalized development plans.Managing relationships with correspondent banks and clients on complex operational aspects.To actively contribute to the department's strategic improvement projects. Required SkillsTo be a great fit for this role, you should have:Proven experience in team management and individual development within a complex operational environment.Excellent command of trade finance products (Import/Export LC, Rebates, Guarantees) and associated regulations (UCP 600, ISP98, URDG, Incoterms 2010).Solid practical experience in processing trade finance transactions.Proficiency in back-office systems: Loan IQ, FBTI, Flexcube (preferred). Knowledge of Calypso and Swift Alliance is a plus.Familiarity with SWIFT payments (MT 103, MT 202) and cross-border settlement in RMB (preferred).Deep expertise in trade finance operationsExcellent understanding of KYC/AML requirements and risk control mechanisms.
ExperienceBachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Banking, or a related field.Minimum of 12 years of progressive experience in trade finance operations within a reputable bank, with at least 5 years in a leadership or managerial role.Proven track record of optimizing operational processes and implementing effective risk management strategies.Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage and motivate a diverse team.Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.Relevant professional certifications in trade finance (e.g., CDCS) are highly desirable.
