Base salary C$160,000 plus performance bonus up to C$60,000, for a total compensation of up to C$220,000.
About the Role
VP of Marketing Operations – lead, build, and scale a high-output marketing operation across multiple brands, companies, industries, and markets.
This senior leadership position requires extensive experience running marketing across multiple clients, brands, or business units, ideally with agency operations, performance marketing, growth marketing, media, or a technology-enabled marketing environment.
The successful candidate will support affiliated companies while also building a public-facing marketing agency that serves outside clients. Manage both internal brands and external client accounts with strong systems, reporting, quality control, and execution.
What You Will Own
Lead and manage marketing operations for multiple internal brands and outside clients.
- Paid advertising across Google, Meta, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok, and other platforms
- Social media, content calendars, video production, creative production, and publishing workflows
- SEO, local SEO, Google Business Profiles, reviews, rankings, citations, and landing pages
- Reputation management, review generation, negative review response strategy, and public trust
- PR, press, awards, rankings, podcasts, events, thought leadership, and brand credibility
- Marketing reporting, dashboards, KPIs, budget control, and campaign performance
- Remote, offshore, freelance, and project-based marketing teams
- AI, automation, software, and marketing technology to increase output and reduce cost
- Internal brand execution and external client delivery
Key Responsibilities
- Build a marketing operating system for a multi-brand, multi-client marketing company
- Create workflows for campaign planning, creative production, approvals, publishing, reporting, and quality control
- Manage paid advertising strategy, budget allocation, lead generation, conversion tracking, cost control, and performance improvement
- Oversee social media, content, video, design, SEO, PR, reputation management, and brand campaigns
- Build systems to improve Google rankings, local visibility, review volume, reputation, and brand trust across multiple cities and service areas
- Collaborate with technology teams, CTOs, developers, CRM teams, automation teams, website teams, analytics teams, and AI tools to improve tracking, reporting, attribution, and marketing performance
- Manage overseas and remote marketing teams, including designers, editors, writers, media buyers, SEO staff, reporting staff, social media support, PR support, and administrative support
- Work with local creators, videographers, photographers, influencers, podcast teams, event teams, and project‑based creative partners when needed
- Ensure all marketing output meets brand standards, messaging standards, creative standards, and business goals
- Build dashboards and reporting for ad spend, leads, lead quality, conversions, SEO, reviews, reputation, content output, PR wins, client delivery, team productivity, and profitability
- Manage competing priorities across multiple companies, departments, executives, clients, campaigns, and deadlines
- Hire, train, manage, and hold marketing team members accountable across local, remote, offshore, freelance, and project‑based teams
- Help build a scalable marketing agency serving both affiliated companies and outside clients across North America
Required Experience
- 10+ years in marketing, marketing operations, growth marketing, agency operations, performance marketing, media, brand management, or senior marketing leadership
- Experience managing marketing across multiple brands, clients, business units, or companies simultaneously
- Agency experience strongly preferred
- Experience managing remote, offshore, global, freelance, or project‑based marketing teams is required
- Strong experience with paid advertising (Google Ads, Meta Ads, LinkedIn Ads, YouTube Ads, TikTok, landing pages, funnels, retargeting, conversion tracking, performance reporting)
- Strong understanding of SEO, local SEO, Google Business Profiles, reviews, citations, content strategy, backlinks, landing pages, and ranking improvement
- Strong experience with reputation management, review generation, negative review handling, PR, press, media, awards, rankings, and brand credibility
- Strong understanding of brand quality, creative direction, messaging, public image, and client perception
- Experience working with technology teams, developers, CTOs, CRM teams, automation teams, website teams, analytics teams, and software tools
- Strong experience using AI and automation tools to increase output, improve speed, reduce cost, and improve reporting
- Strong experience managing marketing budgets, campaign performance, KPIs, reporting, team productivity, and client delivery
- Strong leadership, communication, organization, and accountability skills
- Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, founder‑led environment with high expectations, high volume, and multiple moving parts
- Ontario / GTA‑based preferred, with ability to attend meetings, shoots, events, or leadership sessions in Vaughan when required
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a marketing operator who can think strategically but also build the machine. They can manage multiple brands, multiple clients, multiple teams, and multiple campaigns without losing control of quality or deadlines. They are highly comfortable using overseas teams, freelancers, AI, automation, and software to produce strong marketing output at scale while keeping costs under control.
They understand that marketing for service‑based companies requires leads, trust, Google visibility, reviews, reputation, PR, awards, content, brand perception, and long‑term credibility. They can manage pressure, build structure, hold people accountable, and turn a marketing department into a serious operating company.
Compensation
Base salary C$160,000 plus performance bonus up to C$60,000, for a total compensation of up to C$220,000. Bonus eligibility is based on marketing execution, lead generation, ad performance, reputation improvement, SEO and local visibility, PR and brand recognition, team performance, client delivery, cost control, and operational scalability.
