Job Description
We are partnering with a fast-growing investment firm operating at the intersection of private equity and venture capital to hire a VP of Finance. This is a highly visible leadership role that will work closely with the firm’s partners and investment team and play a critical role in building and scaling the finance infrastructure as the platform continues to grow.
The firm has developed an excellent reputation in the market with a strong track record of performance and successful fundraising. They are known for maintaining a collaborative and thoughtful culture where team members have meaningful exposure to leadership and strategic decision-making. This role will have direct interaction with partners, investors, and key external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the finance and accounting operations for both the management company and investment funds
- Lead the preparation and review of quarterly and annual financial reporting, including coordination with third-party fund administrators
- Manage budgeting, forecasting, and cash management for the management company and support firm-level financial planning
- Serve as a key liaison with auditors, tax advisors, fund administrators, and other external service providers
- Support fundraising and investor relations efforts, including LP reporting, diligence requests, and investor communications
- Partner closely with the investment team to provide financial insights related to firm performance, fund economics, and strategic initiatives
- Help design and implement scalable finance processes, internal controls, and reporting systems as the firm continues to grow
- Lead and mentor members of the finance and accounting team, helping to develop a best-in-class finance function
- Assist with strategic initiatives, including new fund launches, operational improvements, and firm-level growth projects
Ideal Background
- 10+ years of experience in finance or accounting within private equity, venture capital, or alternative asset management
- Strong understanding of fund structures, management company accounting, carried interest, and LP reporting
- Experience working closely with investment partners and senior leadership in a dynamic environment
- Prior experience managing relationships with fund administrators, auditors, and tax providers
- CPA strongly preferred but not required
- Comfortable operating in a high-growth, entrepreneurial environment where processes continue to evolve
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact with both internal leadership and external investors
