Job Description
Job Title: Technical Project Manager Location: Slough Type of Job: Contract Duration: 6+ Months Key Responsibilities Deliver complex projects from initiation to completion Bring thought leadership and think outside the box in terms of setting project approach Experience on VMWare / Active Directory / Wintel. Build relationships multiple stakeholders involved Stakeholder management– ensure expectations are clearly set and managed throughout the programme lifecycle (‘under‑promise’ and ‘over‑deliver’ approach) Chair meetings with cross supplier attendees with differing business agendas Manage both Fixed Price and T&M engagements without exposing Cognizant to commercial risk whilst maximizing revenue and margin Key Skills and Experience Experience of managing Infrastructure projects Competent leader of Project resources (able to assimilate multiple work streams, identify common challenges/dependencies and advise on effective management approaches) Ability to manage large complex projects in multivendor environment Project cost estimation, budgeting and control Ability to foresee risk and managing them in advance RAID management Ability to manage multiple stakeholders at different levels within client organization Ability to create a program roadmap Setting up PMO and reporting functions Hold a discussion with technical team and managers Running KPI based model with risk Credible and competent within senior management meetings (both internal & external) Nice to Have Skills. Knowledge of Earned Value Management and its application to projects/programmes Experienced user of Microsoft Project Suite (specifically including Word, Excel & Microsoft Project).
