Technical Project Manager
Obin AI
New York, Japan Full Time Product Jobs Japan
Job Description
The Role:
We’re looking for a Client-Facing, Technical Project Manager to join our team as a primary driver of successful delivery. You’ll be critical for our key enterprise clients—ensuring that our solutions are integrated seamlessly, on time, and with maximum impact.
You aren’t just checking boxes; you are the "glue" between our clients’ ambitious goals and our engineering team’s execution. You’ll navigate complex organizational structures, manage high-stakes timelines, and ensure that every delivery results in a delighted customer.
This is a high-ownership role based in New York, requiring a mix of strategic planning and hands‑on execution.
You’ll be:
- Lead the lifecycle: Own the end‑to‑end project journey from post‑sales kickoff to final delivery, ensuring all milestones are met with precision.
- Manage the client relationship: Act as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, providing transparent updates, managing expectations, and navigating "scope creep" with diplomacy.
- Orchestrate cross‑functionally: Coordinate between Obin and client’s engineering, product, design, legal, sourcing, etc. to unblock dependencies and keep the momentum high.
- Mitigate risk: Identify potential bottlenecks or technical hurdles early and develop proactive "Plan B" strategies to keep deployments on track.
- Drive process excellence: Refine our implementation playbooks to ensure we can scale our delivery model without sacrificing quality.
Expectations:
- Exceptional Communicator: You can present to a C‑suite executive one hour and dive into technical requirements with a developer the next.
- Process‑Driven: You use tools effectively to organize and find genuine joy in a perfectly organized disparate information.
- Diplomatic Negotiator: You know how to push back on unrealistic client demands while maintaining a partnership‑first relationship.
- Regulated Industry Fluency: You understand the constraints of working within highly regulated industries and are comfortable discussing data security and compliance.
- Unshakeable Ownership: When a project hits a snag, you don't look for someone to blame—you look for a path forward.
Experience Required:
- Minimum 4 years of experience in technical project management, implementation, or technical account management.
- Experience working in high‑growth startups or client‑facing consulting roles.
- Proven track record of managing enterprise‑level deployments (ideally within fintech, banking, or SaaS).
- PMP, Prince2, or Agile certifications are nice to have; but we value a history of successful deliveries the most.
