We’ll building Audit Pilot a first of its kind SaaS platform designed to simplify and automate for the entire health care industry and we need you to help lead this transformation.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in early-stage product builds, modern TypeScript environments, and emerging AI systems.

The Opportunity

$170k-210k base l (Hybrid / Remote-friendly within Australian time zones)

What You’ll Do

• Lead the architecture and backend build using TypeScript + Node.js/NestJS
• Design and implement scalable APIs, infrastructure, automations, and backend services
• Drive DevOps workflows (Docker, CI/CD, AWS)
• Work closely with the Founder & CTO to define roadmap, timelines, and milestones
• Ensure security, performance, and reliability best practices
• Contribute to frontend when needed (framework-agnostic)
• Integrate AI/LLM systems (agents, function-calling, embeddings, RAG workflows)
• Help grow a high-performing engineering team

What We’re Looking For

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience with strong expertise in TypeScript and backend frameworks such as Node.js/NestJS.
• Proven ability to design, build, and scale production‑grade backend systems, including APIs, distributed systems, and asynchronous processing.
• Solid experience with AWS (S3, RDS, CloudFront, Lambda), Docker, and CI/CD pipelines, with strong understanding of security, performance, and reliability best practices.
• Strong foundation in SQL databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL), including schema design, optimisation, and performance tuning.
• Hands‑on experience integrating AI/LLM technologies such as prompt engineering, function calling, embeddings, agentic AI systems, RAG workflows, or AI‑enabled automation.
• Experience building or contributing to SaaS platforms, ideally taking products from MVP to scale.
• Comfortable working across the stack (backend‑first, with general frontend capability when required).
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical decisions to non‑technical stakeholders.
• Strong leadership and project management capabilities — including sprint planning, milestone ownership, and collaborating closely with the Founder/CTO.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, early‑stage environment with evolving requirements and high ownership.
• Bonus: Experience with event‑driven systems, security best practices, performance optimisation, or advanced DevOps tooling.

Our backend is built in TypeScript, using Node.js/NestJS to power APIs, asynchronous processes, and core application logic. Infrastructure runs on AWS, particularly services like S3, RDS, CloudFront, and Lambda, with Docker and CI/CD supporting deployments and automation. The database layer uses PostgreSQL/MySQL, with strong emphasis on SQL schema design and optimization.

On the AI side, the platform leverages LLMs, prompt‑engineering, function‑calling, and emerging agentic AI systems. While primarily backend‑focused, the team values general frontend capability, regardless of framework.
