Job DescriptionJob DescriptionBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification and 1+ years Teacher of the Visually Impaired experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.Make a valuable impact supporting teachers and students in a dynamic, part-time contract role as a Virtual Teacher of the Visually Impaired. This opportunity allows you to provide specialized expertise across schools in a supportive, collaborative model—perfect for educators passionate about empowering others and sharing best practices.Key Qualifications:Valid Florida Educator Certification (required)Demonstrated experience as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)Strong knowledge of braille instruction and assistive technology for visually impaired studentsAbility to coach, mentor, and build the capacity of fellow educatorsExperience supporting students with diverse, complex visual needsComfortable with virtual/VOCO teaching environments Completion of required fingerprinting (previous Florida district prints may be valid via AHCA Clearinghouse)Key Responsibilities:Collaborate virtually with school-based teachers and staff to build confidence in addressing student needsDeliver and adapt professional guidance in braille, assistive tech, and accessible instructional strategiesProvide more intensive support at the beginning of the academic year, tapering as district staff competency growsFoster consistency across multiple sites by sharing techniques and promoting best practices district-wideSupplement, not replace, on-site TVIs, ensuring strong direct service continues for visually impaired studentsThis contract runs from August 10, 2026, through May 28, 2027, with a flexible part-time schedule of 12–15 hours per week.
