About the Role
As a Tax Manager, you will provide comprehensive federal and state tax compliance and consulting services to early‑stage and high‑growth startups across a variety of industries. You will act as a liaison between our portfolio of clients and outside agencies, working closely with the Accounting and Operations teams in a remote, fast‑paced entrepreneurial environment to meet client deliverables. The role includes competitive compensation and opportunities for career advancement.
Responsibilities
- Enter data into ProConnect Tax Software and conduct international tax return reviews.
- Assist with various state and federal filing deadlines.
- Maintain and manage the filing system in cloud‑based software.
- Maintain and update client projects in our proprietary app.
- Continuously monitor client Slack channels for support needs.
- Research and address client questions or problems.
- Build relationships with clients to provide planning, consulting, and expertise.
- Review and occasionally support the preparation of financial statements.
- Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to implement strategic initiatives.
- Participate in additional projects and duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; concentration in Accounting or Finance preferred.
- CPA certification preferred.
- At least four years of experience in tax accounting with strong knowledge of general and tax accounting.
- Extensive experience preparing corporate tax returns (federal and state), particularly for C‑Corporations.
- Proficiency with ProConnect, QuickBooks Online, and Microsoft Excel.
- Experience managing financials for multiple clients.
- Working knowledge of international tax.
- Strong written communication skills for process documentation and procedure manuals.
- Adaptable, strategic, able to thrive in ambiguity, and creatively solve problems while prioritizing multiple deadlines.
- Proficient in computer information systems to present financial information and prepare statistical and financial reports.
- Skilled in research techniques to analyze data and make recommendations.

- Competitive salary: $110,000–$130,000 annually, based on experience, qualifications, and location.
