NHS Lanarkshire is comprised of Acute Services (which currently provide hospital based services over 3 main sites), Corporate, Property & Support Services, and North and South Lanarkshire Health and Social Care Partnerships which provide integrated primary healthcare and social care services to local communities and surrounding areas. The Role To support the Board’s procurement, logistics and supply chain activities, ensuring these are carried out in compliance with the Board Standing Financial Instructions and delivering continuity of supply through providing an efficient and professional service to all wards and departments. Fixed term post until March 2027.
Where a post has only temporary funding and an existing NHS Lanarkshire staff member wishes to apply, the application will be treated as a secondment. The employee must already have written agreement from their line manager to be released on a secondment before applying for the post. In this key role you will: Be responsible for the purchase of all delegated goods and services for the Board, in compliance with the Board’s standing financial instructions as instructed by the first‑line supervisor and senior management.
Offer professional supplies support to all user departments, including product information and pricing where appropriate. Provide provisional pricing and sourcing information for indents/requests from wards and departments while ensuring the utilisation of NHS Scotland and Health Board frameworks and contracts to the maximum extent. Expedite all orders to ensure delivery timescales are met and appropriate paperwork passed for invoice processing.
What You'll Bring Knowledge in using an integrated computer system is essential and experience in maintaining and updating system information is necessary. The post holder must be highly IT literate. The post holder should have 4 Standard Grades or be educated to SVQ2 level or equivalent.
The post holder should have 2 years’ experience in delivering customer‑focused services and have strong communication and team‑working skills. Driving licence required; must be a full UK/EU/EEA licence.
