Software Engineer (Toronto)

Software Engineer - P2, Toronto Location: Downtown Toronto, 30 Adelaide St E. Responsibilities Analyze, design, program, and modify software enhancements and new products used in local, networked, cloud‑based or Internet‑related computer programs. Develop applications in our private cloud that provide outsourcing capabilities to brokerages for clearing mutual fund subaccounts.

Work on large systems developed in multiple technologies, utilizing BDD/TDD methodologies and cloud‑native approaches. Write code, perform testing and debugging of applications, and maintain continuous integration pipelines. Document installation and maintenance procedures, and produce architectural diagrams.

Interact with users to define system requirements and necessary modifications. Adhere to Software Engineering and Information Security Controls, aligning with enterprise architectural strategies. Close existing software defects and ensure ongoing maintenance of architectural diagrams.

Qualifications Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent work experience (3+ years). Proficient in JavaScript, CSS, Java, JUnit, JPA, Spring, Python, GoLang and related frameworks. Experience with SaaS applications, REST APIs, microservices, and cloud‑native services.

Knowledge of Apache NiFi, Airflow, Kafka, Keycloak, serverless computing, and NoSQL solutions is a plus. Strong understanding of web/RESTful services development, SQL and relational databases. Experience working in agile environments using Scrum.
