Job DescriptionJob DescriptionWhat you will do:The Shipping Supervisor will maintain open communications with internal/external contacts.Coordinate with the team on all freight rate exceptions.Supervise loading of trucks in accordance with the written load plan.Conduct load verification and/or blind tallies and supervise corrections when needed.Ensure forklift drivers perform daily operator's checks and fill fuel tanks at the beginning of the shift.Supervise the pre-staging of lumber for special orders,Conduct daily spot inventory of the warehouse and perform inventory adjustments when needed.Obtain weekly run schedule from Planer Supervisor and relay information to Sales in a timely manner.Print daily reports and ensure correct distribution and daily shipping values balance.Coordinate efforts between departments to ensure inventory is stored in a safe, clean, and orderly manner.Minimum Requirements you will need:High School Diploma or GEDCommunication skills, in-person and over the phone, are required to interact with internal & external customers, trucking companies, etc. Work well independentlyHandle multivariate responsibilities and meet deadlinesPerform manual tasks, which include bending, stooping, walking on various surfaces, lifting, and/or reachingAbility to determine different grades of lumber by their stamps.Certify as a forklift operatorWhat will make you stand out:Experience in shipping, stocking, and/or inventoryExperience in supervising othersOutstanding benefits package including:Benefits starting Day 1Competitive starting payOn-the-job trainingA culture that strongly believes in promoting from withinMedical, Dental & Vision401K with company match and additional retirement contributionEmployee Stock Purchase PlanLife InsuranceDisability InsurancePaid vacations and holidaysApply:If you are ready to build your career in a company that thrives on growth, a safe work environment, rewarding work, challenge, and opportunity, come build your career with us at West Fraser: https://www.westfraser.com/careers/current-opportunitiesWe thank all candidates for their interest; however, only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
