As a Senior Project Lead Engineer, you'll lead the delivery of advanced substation automation solutions that keep the grid reliable and resilient. This role involves technical design, coordinating complex projects, and direct engagement with customers to ensure world-class execution.
From configuring SCADA systems to commissioning protective relays, your expertise will drive innovation and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Lead technical design and engineering deliverables for substation automation projects.
- Configure and test SCADA systems, protective relays, and communication devices.
- Perform electrical testing using advanced tools like DOBLE and OMICRON.
- Coordinate project activities across design, production, and commissioning phases.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and cost-efficient delivery.
- Engage with customers to optimize solutions and maintain high satisfaction.
- Support project managers with technical input for proposals and risk assessments.
- Drive continuous improvement and share best practices across teams.
- Ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- 10+ years of experience in substation automation projects.
- Strong knowledge of SCADA, protection systems, and communication protocols (Modbus, DNP3, GOOSE).
- Hands-on experience with electrical testing using DOBLE and OMICRON equipment.
- Familiarity with utility substation operations and standards.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
