Senior Product Design Manager, Consumer Discovery
DoorDash
Job Description
About the Team
DoorDash is on a mission to transform the future of local commerce. Since our founding in 2013, we’ve grown exponentially to become the leading food delivery platform in the U.S. — and we’re just getting started. As we expand beyond restaurants and deepen our role in local commerce, we are at a pivotal moment in evolving our product experience to the next level.
At DoorDash, our customers are at the center of everything we build. We believe exceptional customer experience is directly tied to long‑term business success. Design plays a critical role in shaping that future — serving as a strategic thought partner in cross‑functional product development and ensuring we ship high‑quality, meaningful experiences at scale.
About the Role
We’re looking for a Senior Design Manager to lead the Discovery design team for the Consumer product. You will be responsible for foundational app surfaces within Discovery — a critical part of the golden flow that millions of customers rely on every day. You’ll establish strong principles and design governance to guide teams building on top of these core experiences, while driving the continual evolution of the DoorDash app as we expand deeper into local commerce.
You will report into the Head of Consumer Design on our Consumer team in our Product Design organization.
You’re excited about this opportunity because you will…
- Define and articulate a bold vision for Discovery, elevating the consumer app into a best‑in‑class experience
- Drive major redesigns and transformative initiatives that materially impact the business
- Raise the craft bar across visual design, motion, interaction, and systems thinking
- Turn complex marketplace problems into simple, intuitive experiences
- Coach and mentor designers across craft, strategy, and leadership
- Lead through ambiguity, organizational change, and complexity with resilience and optimism
- Advocate for quality and ensure we ship polished, world‑class experiences
We’re excited about you because you have…
- 12+ years of design experience, including 5+ years building and leading teams
- A portfolio showcasing large‑scale problem‑solving and high design caliber (portfolio link required)
- Fluency in modern product design tools, trends, and cross‑platform technologies
- A desire to work in one of our hub offices (SF, Sunnyvale, New York, or Seattle) 2x per week
- A strong customer‑centric mindset paired with business acumen
