Position Summary
Walmart Global Communications is seeking a Lead Editor / Senior Videographer to join our in‑house films team. The role provides creative leadership and narrative excellence in post‑production, while also performing videography responsibilities. You will collaborate closely with the Creative Director and other senior staff to translate captured content into compelling, high‑quality videos that resonate emotionally and meet strategic objectives.
What you’ll do
Creative Leadership in Post‑Production
- Lead the post‑production process, shaping the narrative and visual tone of video projects in alignment with the team’s creative vision.
- Develop and enforce editing guidelines, workflows, and quality benchmarks for the Films team.
- Collaborate with assigned creative teams to ensure seamless integration of visual and storytelling elements.
- Champion innovation in the video creative space by integrating new tools and technologies that enhance storytelling impact.
Hands‑On Editing
- Execute advanced editing tasks, including cutting footage, integrating motion graphics, sound design, and color grading to elevate the final product.
- Ensure projects meet brand standards, maintain narrative clarity, and resonate emotionally with target audiences.
- Troubleshoot technical challenges in post‑production and implement creative solutions to achieve desired results.
Hands‑On Videography
- Serve as senior videographer on shoots, operating cameras, leading lighting setups, adjusting equipment, and troubleshooting on site.
Collaboration and Feedback
- Provide constructive feedback and guidance to videographers and editors during post‑production.
- Partner closely with senior editorial staff to maintain cohesive storytelling across campaigns and platforms.
- Act as a key point of contact for stakeholders, incorporating their input while preserving creative integrity.
Workflow and Asset Management
- Oversee post‑production workflows, including file organization, asset management, and adherence to deadlines.
- Recommend and implement tools and processes to optimize editing efficiency and output quality.
- Stay informed on emerging trends, technologies, and techniques in video editing to bring innovative approaches to the team.
What you’ll bring
Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in film, media production, communications, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- 7+ years of experience in video editing, including leadership roles in post‑production.
- Proven track record of editing high‑quality video content across multiple formats and platforms (social, digital, broadcast).
- Experience developing and implementing post‑production workflows for efficiency and consistency.
- Experience working in an in‑house creative team or agency setting, particularly in retail or consumer‑facing industries (preferred).
- Demonstrated leadership ability, mentoring or guiding junior editors and videographers.
Skills and Competencies
- Strong creative vision and storytelling skills, translating raw footage into compelling narratives.
- Advanced organizational skills, managing complex projects and meeting tight deadlines.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills with cinematographers, producers, and creative leads.
- Ability to give and receive constructive feedback to ensure alignment with creative and strategic goals.
- Understanding of brand storytelling and alignment with broader communication campaigns and objectives.
- Knowledge of emerging trends and technologies in video editing and post‑production, including AI‑powered tools.
Technical Expertise
- Expertise in video equipment, production tools, and workflows.
- Expertise in industry‑standard editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, etc.).
- Advanced technical skills in post‑production, sound design, and color grading.
- Motion graphics and animation experience (a plus).
- Familiarity with asset management and collaborative tools (Frame.io, Lucid Link, etc.).
- Adoption of emerging trends and technologies in storytelling, including GenAI tools and experimental platforms.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Design, Marketing, Creative Writing, Advertising, Fine Arts, or related field.
- 3 years of experience in editorial content management or related field, or 5 years of experience in editorial content management or related field.
