Purpose of the JobThe Senior IT Specialist – Service Delivery & Infrastructure is responsible for the operational governance of IT services, IT Operations and business partnership. This role focuses on implementing efficient, reliable IT solutions that support shore-based operations. This role reports to the Head of IT.

Job Accountabilities/Key Responsibilities: Financial Management & Budgeting Manage corporate IT spend within agreed budgets.Renew all IT contracts 4 months before expiry with a focus on cost savingsAddress financial variances exceeding 10 % with stakeholders.
Operational Excellence Formalize application onboarding processes for new IT systems and vendors.Improve IT service management.Optimize IT support operations (target: 10 % reduction in incident tickets).Implement structured tech‑champion networks.Oversee patch management for servers, firewalls, and endpoints (non-security focused maintenance).
Innovation & Digital Transformation Evaluate emerging technologies to improve overall IT efficiency.Support development of key infra / security systems in our Azure environment.Develop architectural documentation.
IT Governance & Asset ManagementEstablish operational governance frameworks and policies aligned with internal standards.Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements through audit support (non‑security‑specific).Manage IT risk assessment, business continuity planning, and penetration testing where applicable to infrastructure reliability.Maintain IT asset inventory and lifecycle management processes.Oversee end user training on general IT best practices (excluding security awareness).
Ad Hoc tasks assigned Any other ad-hoc tasks and projects as assigned by the Head of IT
The successful candidate will be a self‑starter who combines strategic insight with meticulous execution. You must be comfortable juggling a matrix of relationships, including external vendors, internal system owners, senior business leaders, functional heads, and end‑users and be able to translate their diverse needs into clear, actionable plans.
Qualifications & Experience:Minimum 5–8 years of proven experience in IT support, preferably within the maritime or shipping industry. Strong financial management and budget control abilities. Excellent stakeholder management and business partnership skills.Knowledge of Microsoft technologies (Azure, M365-E5) and related IT solutions.Experience with system migrations, architectural documentation, and IT governance.Good understanding of Technical IT, including cyber, cloud computing, infrastructure, application support.
