Overview

A finance company in central Madrid is hiring a Senior AI Engineer to build and productionise AI systems across trading, risk, operations, and internal automation. The role is highly engineering-focused, with an emphasis on deploying reliable ML/LLM systems into regulated, high-performance environments.

This suits someone who enjoys hands-on backend engineering as much as applied AI work.

Responsibilities

• Design and deploy production AI/ML systems for financial use cases
• Build and maintain LLM applications, RAG pipelines, and AI agents
• Develop scalable backend services and APIs for AI products
• Work with structured and unstructured financial datasets
• Optimise model inference, latency, and infrastructure costs
• Collaborate with quants, traders, risk, and platform engineering teams
• Implement monitoring, evaluation, and governance for AI systems
• Contribute to MLOps and cloud infrastructure practices

Required Skills

• Strong Python engineering experience
• Production experience with LLMs and modern AI tooling
• Experience with:
• PyTorch or TensorFlow
• FastAPI / backend API development
• Vector databases and RAG architectures
• Docker & Kubernetes
• AWS, GCP, or Azure
• Solid software engineering fundamentals
• Experience deploying models into production environments
• Strong SQL and data engineering exposure

Preferred

• Experience in finance, trading, hedge funds, or banking
• Knowledge of market data systems or quantitative workflows
• Experience with:

• Airflow

• ML observability platforms
• Familiarity with AI governance in regulated environments
