Registered Nurse (RN) – Part Time – Evening Shift Location: South Woodslee, Ontario Salary Range: $36.06–$54.59 Reports to: Director of Care Southbridge Care Homes provides exceptional acquisition, management, and redevelopment services for long‑term care homes and retirement communities across Ontario. Key Responsibilities Ensure resident care is provided with established nursing standards, physician orders, and administrative policies; observe, report, and record vital signs, symptoms, and conditions of residents.
Assist in assessing residents and developing, implementing, reviewing, and evaluating resident care plans; monitor health and note changes in condition; assess need for referral to doctors and process physician orders. Plan, direct, supervise, and evaluate the work of nursing and personal care staff assigned to the unit; orient and train new personnel and may participate in in‑service education; monitor performance and conduct appraisals; refer problems to the Director of Care. Assist in preparing the facility for RAI MDS.
Act as acting Director of Care in the Director’s absence. Provide staff replacement for the care clerk in the Director’s absence. Knowledge and Skills Required Current certificate of competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario.
Registration or eligibility with the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario. Current First Aid and BLS Certificate. Previous managerial experience in long‑term care (preferred).
Experience with cognitively impaired residents. Comprehensive knowledge of nursing and health care practices; knowledge of infection control practices. Demonstrated commitment to working with seniors.
Able to work effectively individually and with others, prioritizing tasks to handle urgent matters first. Clear and effective communication, both verbal and written; active listener with a friendly demeanor. Strong analytical skills to gather and synthesize information to see the big picture and generate creative solutions.
Excellent organizational, planning, time‑management, and multi‑tasking skills. Additional Requirements A negative vulnerable sector check completed within 6 months of start date. Completion of a 2‑Step TB skin test within the last 12 months of start date.
