The company is known for its commitment to innovation, product development, and continuous improvement, supplying high-quality solutions across the UK and international markets.Your New RoleAs an R&D Engineer, you will be responsible for managing and supporting research and development activities across the business. You will play a key role in identifying new technologies, developing technical solutions, and ensuring projects are delivered efficiently and in line with business objectives.
Key responsibilities will include:Conducting research and evaluation to develop practical technical solutions to engineering challengesManaging R&D activities to ensure delivery in line with project timelinesIdentifying and reporting on emerging technologies relevant to current and future projectsPlanning and carrying out development and validation activities, including testing and technical reportingWorking to detailed technical specifications across a range of projectsCollaborating with procurement and supply chain teams to optimise cost efficiency and innovationCarrying out supplier technology benchmarking to support product developmentSupporting prototype design of gauges and systems for various applicationsProducing technical reports for internal and external communicationAssisting with troubleshooting and performance analysis at shop floor and service levelsMaintaining strong communication across design, project, manufacturing, and service teamsWhat You'll Need to SucceedTo be successful in this role, you should have:A third-level qualification in Engineering (design-focused discipline preferred)Experience in a research, development, or design engineering environmentAbility to read and interpret technical drawingsStrong problem-solving and analytical skillsAbility to work to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environmentExcellent communication and collaboration skillsTechnical skills:Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similarExperience with Microsoft Office tools, particularly ExcelWhat You'll Get in ReturnCompetitive salary and benefits packageOpportunity to work in a fast-paced, innovative engineering environmentCareer development and progression opportunitiesExposure to cutting-edge technologies and product developmentHybrid working (1 day per week after probation)Enhanced Maternity and Paternity 32 Days Holidays Life Assurance Private Healthcare37 Hour working week
