Job Description:• Design and implement multivariable model predictive control (MPC) applications• Develop and maintain process models (dynamic & steady state)• Identify suitable APC candidates based on process variability, constraints, and business value• Configure, test, and commission APC controllers on DCS/PLC platforms• Perform loop assessment, PID tuning, and constraint handling• Monitor APC performance and ensure long term controller sustainment• Analyze plant data to diagnose process issues and control performance gaps• Work closely with process engineers, operations, automation, and IT teams• Support plant optimization initiatives (energy reduction, throughput maximization)• Prepare technical documentation, training materials, and operator guidance• Provide troubleshooting support during plant upsets and transitions• Ensure compliance with plant safety, cyber security, and change management procedures.
Strong fundamentals in Chemical Engineering / Instrumentation & Control Engineering, Heat & material balances, Unit operations (reactors, distillation, furnaces, compressors, mills, dryers etc.) and Understanding of plant operations and constraints• Proficiency in Multivariable Control (MPC)• Knowledge of Dynamic modeling, Linear & nonlinear systems, Constraint based control• Experience with PID control, cascade, ratio, feedforward control• Performance monitoring and controller diagnostics• Hands on work experience in Aspen DMC3 APC environment is a must• Hands on work experience in other APC environment from Honeywell, Yokogawa, Siemens, Emerson etc will be added advantage• Good understanding of plant control systems• Knowledge of Control logic, Data historians (PI, Aspen IP21, etc.)• Conversant with Plant data analysis and preprocessing, Model validation and performance evaluation, Statistical techniques such as Regression, Correlation analysis, Variability and disturbance analysis• Strong problem solving and analytical thinking• Ability to communicate complex control concepts to operations teams
Qualification:B.E./ B.Tech or M.E./ M.Tech in Chemical Engineering from well known reputed colleges / universities.
