Principal Systems Engineer – Effectors

The Systems Engineering and Test Center (SETC) is hiring a Principal Systems Engineer for the Effectors team at our Tucson, AZ campus. This role is on‑site and requires U.S. citizenship and a current Secret clearance.
Responsibilities
- Update, maintain, and improve requirements and related documentation for development and production efforts.
- Support design and system verification testing.
- Provide systems engineering guidance and support during integration and test activities.
- Support system performance analysis, integration, and test.
- Mentor and guide team members, including engagement of subject matter experts.
- Participate in failure investigations.
- Facilitate knowledge transfer within and across IPTs/CPTs to include cross‑functional collaboration and coordination.
- Conduct trade studies and present results to customers.
- Support test equipment software integration and verification for system test.
Qualifications – Must Have
- Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience.
- Experience in systems engineering, including developing and refining CONOPS, system architecture, system requirements, and requirement verification strategies and plans.
- Experience in a missile program.
- Experience working with multidisciplinary technical and/or engineering teams.
- Experience with developing system requirements specifications and requirements management processes.
- Verification and qualification testing experience.
Qualifications – Preferred
- Master's or Ph.D. in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or related field.
- Experience in the defense industry beyond Raytheon.
- Experience using Agile development methods and processes.
- Experience with model‑based systems engineering (MBSE) and associated tools.
- Experience with SW/FW verification and qualification testing.
- Prior experience with foreign military sales.
- Self‑starter with limited guidance.
- Customer focus and collaboration skills.
- Experience with performance analysis.
- Experience with DOORS and/or cPDM.
- Ability to perform trade studies to optimize system performance.
- Understanding of the systems engineering product development cycle.
- Familiarity with system safety, reliability, and configuration management.
- Experience with Agile, MBSE, and/or digital engineering.
Location & Work Arrangement
This position is located at 805 ~ 1151 E Hermans Rd, Tucson, AZ. The role requires onsite work at the Tucson campus.
Salary
Base salary range: USD 107,500 – 204,500 per year.
