Raytheon is seeking a well‑qualified Principal System Security Engineer (SSE) – P4 to join the Cyber Security Engineering team for a dynamic, high‑profile program located in Largo, Florida. This onsite position requires a U.S. security clearance, including an active and transferable Top Secret Security SCI clearance. The role focuses on system security engineering and program protection concerns within cybersecurity, including operations and maintenance of classified information systems, development and implementation of security solutions, and participation in Risk Management Framework assessments.
What You Will Do
- As a System Administrator ensure the confidentiality, integrity and availability of IT systems and applications
- Optimize Windows‑based server infrastructure in a distributed information system
- Provide guidance in support of administrative tasking, including corrective/preventive maintenance, recurring operations functions, account management, and system optimization
- Coordinate technical and process document reviews and resolve system administration, engineering, and integration issues
- Participate in technical meetings with team members and other program personnel
- Participate in the development and implementation of systems security solutions
- Perform hands‑on technical implementation of security solutions comprising COTS & FOSS technology
Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in STEM and 8 years of prior relevant experience
- Active and transferable U.S. government‑issued DoD Top Secret Security SCI clearance required; U.S. citizenship required for clearance
- Experience designing, implementing, testing and fielding real‑time security‑oriented solutions on DoD programs
- Experience developing system requirements and flow‑down requirements and implementation concepts for subsystems
- DoDD 8140 / 8570 certification, CompTIA Security+ (or equivalent)
- Experience with Active Directory, WSUS, VMware, Windows administration, backup and recovery enterprise suites
Qualifications We Prefer
- Excellent analytical, critical thinking and creative problem‑solving abilities
- Experience writing technical documentation
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Direct working experience with NISPOM, JAFAN, JSIG, DFARS and/or DoD/RMF
- Industry certifications such as CISSP, ITIL, Security+
