Job Description WSP is recruiting for a Cyber Security Consultant to join our industry‑leading Cyber Security Capability team, which delivers specialist cyber security services to a wide spectrum of industries. As a valued member of the team, you will access benefits and work on projects providing cyber security and strategy advice, technical assurance, solution guidance, design support, and testing assurance to domestic and international clients. Role responsibilities Provide technical consultancy services aligned to client needs and support WSP’s cyber security deliverables through the lifecycle of OT/IT development and Digital Transformation projects.
Develop proportionate, risk‑based recommendations and translate strategy into practical delivery. Support clients on cyber security compliance, including NIS‑D, NIST, ISO 27001, ISA/IEC 62443 and other relevant industry standards and best practice. Contribute to governance frameworks and support the development of Cyber Security and Information Security Management Systems.
Assess cyber security controls, review architecture proposals, and support threat and risk assessments. Support cyber security requirements analysis and tailor outputs to client context. Understand business and technical requirements and translate them into clear, deliverable actions.
Collaborate with clients, government agencies, partners and supply chains to define technical and procedural solutions to complex problems. Work across projects to support consistent delivery of best‑practice cyber security. Support client presentations and proposals by explaining our cyber security services and shaping solutions to address digital resilience challenges.
Qualifications & experience Background in Cyber Security, OT, Integration or Systems Engineering, ideally gained in a consultancy or supplier environment. Specific experience of OT, IT and IoT/IIoT cyber security, and industry‑specific experience in sectors such as Energy, Healthcare, Smart Infrastructure/Buildings, Aviation, Maritime, etc. A degree in an engineering, computer science or other technical discipline or equivalent industry experience.
Chartership in Engineering or Cyber Security, or plan to achieve one, is highly recommended. Ability to work effectively within teams, contribute to knowledge sharing and support early‑career professionals. Experience supporting proposal writing and bid responses in collaboration with delivery and sales teams.
Experience in Telecoms, SCADA, mission‑critical, safety‑critical or big‑data architectures. Skills in threat modelling, vulnerability analysis and risk matrix modelling. Experience with Secure DevOps and secure systems engineering lifecycle.
Knowledge of security policy and governance. Experience with Cloud Security, including OT in the Cloud. Experience with incident management frameworks, digital forensics, crisis management, SOC operations and supporting tools.
Strong knowledge and practical experience of cyber security platforms/tooling such as IDS/IPS, SIEM, EDR/MDR, and system/device hardening.
