Principal Automation Engineer

Automation Engineer Principal – Kissimmee, FL

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain automation equipment interface solutions for controlling semiconductor factory equipment using SECS/GEM and GEM300 protocols.
• Steer technology decisions and product selections affecting automation systems for the site.
• Integrate automation solutions to third‑party support systems such as Automatic Process Control (APC) or Fault Detection & Classification (FDC) within the factory.
• Identify and implement custom automation rules for improving site metrics such as Automated Move Out %, Line Yield, rework, etc.
• Troubleshoot automation and equipment issues from application and communication log files.
• Work with tool owners to identify and document equipment control strategies.
• Work independently on complex problems and serve as technical lead for junior engineers or technicians in the company.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technology‑related field with 10 years of manufacturing industry experience, or equivalent experience in lieu of a degree.
• Experience developing and maintaining automation equipment interface solutions for controlling semiconductor factory equipment.
• Experience developing on multiple software platforms and technologies: C#, C++, Java, SQL, or Python.
• Project management and technical documentation skills.
• U.S. Citizenship required for security clearance.

Compensation & Benefits

The annual salary range for this role is $136,960 – $205,440. Pay is based on experience, skills, education, and credentials.
