Job Title: Principal Analyst, ATRLocation: BengaluruReporting to: Manager, ATR
Purpose of the roleThe Fixed Assets & Leases Senior Analyst is responsible for end-to-end Fixed Assets and Lease Accounting activities within the Account-to-Report (ATR) tower. The role ensures accurate capitalization, depreciation, lease accounting, reconciliations, and compliance with internal controls (SOX/MICS), while partnering with business, CapEx owners, and auditors in a global shared services environment.
Key tasks & accountabilitiesFixed Assets Accounting & ClosePerform end-to-end Fixed Assets accounting including asset creation, capitalization, depreciation, transfers, retirements, impairments, and write-offsExecute month-end close (MEC) activities for Fixed Assets in line with close calendarsEnsure accurate depreciation runs and analyze variancesValidate capitalization in line with accounting policies and thresholds
Lease Accounting (IFRS 16 / ASC 842)Perform lease accounting activities including lease setup, ROU asset and lease liability accountingPost monthly lease-related entries (depreciation, interest, remeasurements)Support lease modifications, term reassessments, and data validationEnsure compliance with IFRS 16 / ASC 842 requirements
Reconciliations & ControlsPerform FA and lease sub-ledger to GL reconciliationsInvestigate and clear reconciling items within defined SLAsEnsure adherence to SOX/MICS controls with complete audit documentationSupport balance sheet reviews and risk assessments
CapEx, CWIP & GovernanceMonitor CWIP balances and ensure timely capitalizationPartner with Projects and Procurement teams to validate asset classificationSupport asset tagging and physical verification activities
Reporting, Audit & Stakeholder SupportPrepare Fixed Assets and Lease schedules for management and statutory reportingSupport internal and external audits and provide audit evidenceCoordinate with onshore finance, controllers, and business stakeholders
Process Improvement & TransformationSupport process standardization, automation, and system improvementsMaintain SOPs and control documentationParticipate in ERP / S/4HANA related initiatives
Qualifications, Experience, SkillsQUALIFICATIONor Finance degree (mandatory)3-5 years of experience in Fixed Assets, Lease Accounting, or General AccountingExperience in GBS / Shared Services environment preferredExposure to audits and internal controls (SOX/MICS)
PREVIOUS WORK EXPERIENCEMinimum 5-8 years Previous work experience in field of Fixed Assets, accounting, reporting or auditExperience in working with SAP/ERPExperience with MS Office (Excel, Word, etc.);Experience in working in a multi-national environment is a plusExperience in working in a process-oriented organization is a plusShared Services experience is a plusAbility to analyze complex Accounting data
SKILLSStrong knowledge of Fixed Assets and Lease AccountingWorking knowledge of IFRS 16 / ASC 842Hands-on experience with SAP ECC / S/4HANA (FA and Lease modules preferred)Strong reconciliation and analytical skillsGood communication and stakeholder management skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced, global close environment
