The Piping Design Engineer will be responsible for preparing and reviewing piping layouts, isometrics, and support details in accordance with project specifications, industry codes, and safety standards. The role involves performing design calculations, coordinating with stress analysis, mechanical, process, and instrumentation teams, and ensuring accurate integration with 3D plant design and modeling tools. The engineer will participate in design reviews, resolve technical queries, and support the development of material take-offs, piping specifications, and construction documents.
The position also includes collaborating with project managers and site teams to address design issues, support timely project delivery, and maintain quality documentation.Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in Mechanical / Piping / Civil Engineering or a related field. 5 years of experience in AutoCAD Plant 3D for plant design. Strong knowledge of piping layouts, P&IDs, and equipment modeling. Familiarity with industry standards (ASME, ANSI, API, ASTM, etc.).
Proficiency in Navisworks for clash detection (preferred). Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Ability to work in a team-oriented, deadline-driven environment.
QualificationsStrong piping design capabilities, including Piping Design and Piping layout, routing, and detailing skills.Experience with Stress Analysis for piping systems, including familiarity with relevant codes and standards.Solid foundation in Mechanical Engineering principles applied to piping and plant design.Exposure to Petroleum, Oil & Gas, or related process industries and their design requirements.Proficiency with 2D/3D plant design tools (e.g., Intergraph SmartPlant suite, PDMS/E3D, or similar) and basic CAD workflows.Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.Ability to interpret P&IDs, equipment layouts, and engineering drawings, with strong attention to detail and quality.Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary engineering teams.Strong problem-solving abilities, proactive approach to design optimization, and willingness to learn new tools and standards.Prior experience in EPC or consulting environments in plant design is an advantage.
