Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated COTA to join our Vernon, AL team on a part-time basis. Working under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist, you will help implement treatment plans and support patients in improving their ability to perform daily activities and achieve greater independence.

Responsibilities
- Assist Occupational Therapists in conducting patient evaluations and assessments to determine functional status and develop treatment plans.
- Implement individualized treatment programs designed to improve patients' ability to perform activities of daily living (ADLs), mobility, and fine motor skills.
- Provide therapeutic interventions under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist, including therapeutic exercises, activities, and modalities.
- Educate patients and caregivers on therapeutic techniques and adaptive equipment to enhance independence and overall function.
- Monitor and document patient progress, outcomes, and responses to treatment interventions.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated and effective patient care.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of progress notes, treatment sessions, and discharge summaries.
Requirements
- Associate's degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
- Current certification as a COTA by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
- State licensure or eligibility for licensure as a COTA in Alabama.
- CPR certification (BLS).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to support patients, families, and fellow healthcare professionals.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting, especially rehabilitation or skilled nursing.
- Familiarity with Medicare and Medicaid regulations related to occupational therapy services.
- Specialized training or certifications in geriatrics, pediatrics, neurorehabilitation, or related areas.
