Banstead Preparatory School is a co‑educational prep school, pre‑school and nursery, educating around 250 children aged 2‑11. The school is located on the outskirts of Banstead, Surrey, and is part of United Learning. Job details Banstead Preparatory School is delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for an exceptional Personal Assistant to support the Headteacher during a period of growth and development.
This is a term‑time only role, with an additional three weeks in the holidays, beginning September. The role is fast‑paced, highly trusted and provides a genuine insight into the full operational life of a busy prep school. The Role You will provide direct support to the Headteacher, work closely with the Senior Leadership Team and wider staff to ensure priorities are managed effectively and the school runs smoothly day‑to‑day.
Your responsibilities will include diary and communication management, supporting meetings, coordinating events, assisting with recruitment processes, acting as a key point of contact across the school community and maintaining the highest levels of professionalism, judgement and confidentiality. What you’ll be doing Providing high‑level PA support to the Headteacher, including diary and communication management Supporting SLT coordination, meetings and operational priorities Assisting with school events, calendar planning and key whole‑school activities Supporting recruitment and administrative processes Attending meetings and recording actions where required Acting as a professional point of contact for parents, staff and external stakeholders Supporting wider school administration and office functions when needed Ensuring key priorities are effectively tracked and followed through About you We are looking for a candidate who is: Highly organised, proactive and able to manage competing priorities Experienced in a personal assistant, executive assistant or senior administrative role Discreet, trustworthy and confident handling sensitive information Excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills Calm, resilient and adaptable in a fast‑paced environment Confident using modern digital systems and office software Natural problem‑solver with a “can‑do” approach Experience within an educational setting would be an advantage but is not essential.
