OB/GYN Locums Opportunity - Fountain Valley, CAPosition Overview
- Specialty: Obstetrics & Gynecology
- Location: Fountain Valley, California
- Start Date: As Soon as Credentialed (45-60 Days)
- Assignment Length: Through August/September 2026 with Possible Extension
- Setting: Outpatient Clinic with Optional Call Coverage
- Locums-to-Perm: Considered
- Outpatient clinic coverage
- Average 18-21 patients per day
- Typical visit lengths:
- Follow-ups: 15 minutes
- New patients/procedures: 30 minutes
- Patient population: Adolescents (13+) through Geriatrics
- Preference for providers willing to provide both clinic coverage and call
- Call is not in-house
- Midwives serve as first call
- Physician called primarily for:
- High-risk deliveries
- Cesarean sections
- Laborist group provides coverage while on-call physician is en route
- Outpatient-only providers will also be considered
- Active, Unrestricted California Medical License
- Board Certified OB/GYN
- DEA Registration
- BLS or ACLS Certification
- Completion of an Accredited 4-Year OB/GYN Residency Program
- Minimum 2 Years of Experience
- Epic EMR Experience
- Outpatient women's health clinic
- Deliveries performed at affiliated hospital
- Full-scope OB/GYN practice preferred
- Credentialing timeframe: 45-60 days
- Confirmation of pregnancy (>7 weeks) with bedside ultrasound
- Initial OB visits
- Routine prenatal visits
- Postpartum visits
- Incision checks
- Well-woman exams for all ages
- Menopause management
- Hormone replacement therapy
- UTI and STI evaluation/treatment
- Breast pain evaluations
- General gynecologic problem visits
- IUD insertion and removal
- Nexplanon insertion and removal
- Endometrial biopsy (EMB)
- Colposcopy
- LEEP procedures
- Cryotherapy
- Cervical polyp removal
- Incision and drainage of cysts
- Full-scope OB/GYN opportunity
- Outpatient-only candidates considered
- Call coverage highly preferred
- Potential for assignment extension
- Locums-to-permanent option available
- Established support structure with midwives and laborist coverage
- Diverse patient population from adolescent through geriatric care
