Job Description
A Network Engineer II opportunity located onsite in San Jose with a large, enterprise-scale organization supporting nationwide infrastructure systems. This is a contract role focused on designing, implementing, and supporting network solutions that ensure application functionality, performance, and reliability in a 24/7 environment.
This role offers hands‑on exposure to complex enterprise networks, meaningful ownership of network performance, and the chance to work alongside experienced IT teams solving real‑world infrastructure challenges. You’ll contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, gain leadership experience through documentation and process enhancement, and play a key role in maintaining high‑availability systems, all while sharpening your technical expertise in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.
Contract Duration
6 – 12 Months (potential to extend/convert)
Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum 3 years of experience managing, configuring, and troubleshooting Cisco routers and switches in a 24/7 enterprise network environment
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, LACP, 802.1d, 802.3, 802.11, Port Security, HSRP, VRRP, BGP, OSPF, ACLs, and VACLs
- Experience with bandwidth measurement, network monitoring, network performance tools, and load balancing technologies
- Proven ability to build, maintain, and organize network cabling and rack‑mounted equipment
- Strong troubleshooting, critical thinking, and attention to detail
- Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non‑technical audiences
- Ability to work autonomously, manage time effectively, and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
- Comfortable handling multiple projects simultaneously in a fast‑paced environment
- Willingness to participate in 24/7 on‑call network support as required
Desired Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
- Familiarity with Azure Cloud environments
- Strong knowledge of wireless technologies and Network Access Control (NAC)
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

Daily Responsibilities
You will design, engineer, and implement network solutions aligned with business objectives, administer network configurations and security controls, optimize performance through root‑cause analysis, and contribute to documentation and process improvements. You’ll also support ongoing maintenance and troubleshooting efforts to ensure high availability and reliability across enterprise systems
