Opportunity Details

RWJBarnabas Health’s Northern Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery is looking for the next Heart Transplant & Cardiothoracic Surgeon at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center.

This surgeon will perform comprehensive adult cardiothoracic surgical care and serve as a key operative leader in heart transplantation and mechanical circulatory support (MCS). The candidate will conduct heart transplantations, participate in donor procurement, and manage temporary and durable MCS (LVAD/RVAD/ECMO).

The ideal candidate will be fellowship‑trained in cardiothoracic surgery with expertise in heart transplantation, ventricular assist devices (VAD), and complex cardiac surgery.

Qualifications

• Fellowship‑trained in cardiothoracic surgery.
• Expertise in heart transplantation and ventricular assist devices.
• Experience in complex cardiac surgery procedures.
• Strong leadership and operative skills.

Compensation and Benefits

Anticipated salary range: $550,000 – $700,000, dependent on education, skills, and experience.
