Job Description
Manufacturing Excellence Lead - Finished Products PL 14 -15; starting base salary commensurate with relevant experience, education and training. Relocation assistance will be provided with this position. The Manufacturing Excellence Leader in Finished Products will be responsible for Manufacturing Excellence Initiatives, including strategy deployment and deliberate and continuous improvement, for the entire Finished Products area. Additionally, they will also be responsible for leading and educating the operations and maintenance teams in Lean Six Sigma tools. The Manufacturing Excellence Leader will report directly to the Finished Products Business Unit Manager with a dotted line to the Mill MME. Essential Responsibilities:
Demonstrated leadership in the area of safety; support broad based participation in the mill's safety process. Drive, develop and implement innovative capital and non-capital process changes which will improve product quality, reduce operating cost, or provide an economic advantage. Responsible for building plan to close ME R-gap for the assigned area. Utilize Manufacturing Excellence tools to drive a culture of deliberate improvement and engage employees in participating in cost improvement projects. Responsible for working with and coordination of corporate technology team's cost reduction ideas and initiatives in the assigned area. Will work to train mill population in white belt, yellow belt, and green belt. Will be responsible for mentoring and developing new engineers
Qualifications: Required qualifications include:
Bachelor Degree or a minimum 5 years manufacturing management or technical experience with a track record of high achievement and continuous improvement through systems and teams
Manufacturing Excellence experience with commitment to earn Green Belt
Broad experience leading people and influencing a management team to achieve desired results Strong oral and written communication skills Strong interpersonal skills and manufacturing leadership experience focused on accountability and results. Must be able to develop strong working relationships with all levels including operating technicians Strong organizational and planning skills Strong understanding of sustainability with a track record of implementing work systems. Ability to communicate and present to a broad array of people Must be self-directed in job role and skill development Knowledgeable of continuous improvement/ME processes and tools (i.e., Lean, Six Sigma, performance management and tracking, change management, capital allocation, Kaizen, Kepner Tregoe, RCFA, etc.)
Preferred qualifications include:
Green Belt certified
