About the Role This role supports the execution of sourcing strategies for the seafood category by partnering with suppliers across India and Asia and collaborating with cross-functional teams in the U.S. and international markets. The Sourcing Manager drives supplier performance, cost competitiveness, and operational excellence to ensure consistent delivery of quality products aligned with Walmart's mission to help customers save money and live better. About the Team Walmart Seafood Sourcing focuses on building a resilient, cost competitive supply across markets by strengthening factory level partnerships and expanding direct sourcing and transparency.
The team is executing a Direct Sourcing Model to improve efficiency, traceability, and quality, while diversifying countries of origin and leveraging scale across Walmart and Sam's Club. Current priorities include expanding direct sourcing, optimizing supply chain efficiencies, reducing factory complexity, and supporting cross market programs globally What you'll do Execute sourcing plans by aligning suppliers and internal stakeholders to business objectives and timelines. Monitor and improve supplier performance metrics, including On-Time Delivery (OTD), quality, and service levels.
Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships to drive accountability and continuous improvement. Negotiate with suppliers to achieve competitive pricing and identify cost-saving opportunities. Partner with Replenishment, Supply Chain, and Merchandising teams across Walmart U.S. and international markets to ensure alignment and effective execution of sourcing programs.
Support product launches and sourcing programs by ensuring supplier readiness and adherence to timelines. Leverage sourcing tools and data to track performance and support decision-making; provide input to improve tools, systems, and processes. What you'll bring Proficiency in analytical and AI-enabled tools, with the ability to translate data into clear, actionable insights and influence cross-functional stakeholders.
Strong execution mindset with a process-oriented approach to build, follow, and improve structured workflows. Ability to navigate ambiguity, make informed decisions, and proactively engage the right stakeholders. Stakeholder Engagement: Proven ability to build relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders (retail market, suppliers, logistics, merchants) and adapt to competing demands with solid business solutions.
Background in supply chain, logistics, or manufacturing is preferred, along with exposure to end to end operations, quality control, and inspection standards. Experience in food or seafood categories is preferred, along with familiarity with sourcing, planning, or supply chain systems and tools. Language Proficiency: Good command of both English and local language is required.
