Manager Data & AI Platform Engineer

PURPOSE OF ROLE:

The Engineering Manager, Data & AI Platform leads data platform engineering delivery within UAI, ensuring platform capabilities are designed, built,optimized, andoperatedwith the highest standards of scalability, reliability, security, and AI readiness.

This role sets and reinforces technical expectations while directly contributing to the design and development of enterprise data solutions. It ensures engineering output aligns with enterprise architectural guardrails, governance standards, and long-term platform strategy. Operating with strong collaboration across the Enterprise Data Management and Analytics towers and in closepartnershipwith Global IT, Privacy and Securityteams, this role strengthens alignment between platform engineering, analytics enablement, AI innovation, and enterprise technology operations.

By integrating technical leadership with people development and operational oversight, this role advances engineering maturity, modernizes platform capabilities, and ensures durable, high-performing data products that power analytics, automation, and intelligent decision-making across the organization.is a technical leader within EDMA responsible for architecting and scaling enterprise data products that enable strategic decision-making. This role defines engineering and data modeling standards, drives platform modernization, and leadscomplexcross-functional initiatives across the Decision Products ecosystem

Reporting Structure- You will report directly to amanager employed by Under Armour Global Services Pvt. Ltd. in India.

YOUR IMPACT (Job Responsibilities):

• Lead, mentor, and grow data platform engineers while reinforcing high performance, high-quality engineering culture.
• Ensure alignment to enterprise engineering principles, platform governance, architectural guardrails, and security standards.
• Drive scalable ingestion, transformation, and integration patterns using Snowflake, dbt, AWS, Airflow, Fivetran, and related ecosystem tools.
• Uphold data, analytic modeling, and semantic layer standards across all enterprise domains.
• Guide engineers through complex architecture decisions, production issues, and workload optimization.
• Strengthen CI/CD, automated testing, observability, data quality, monitoring, alerting, and version control practices.
• Oversee release/change management, SLA/SLO adherence, and production stability across platform products.
• Optimize compute, storage, performance, and cost efficiency in partnership with security and FinOps.
• Lead cross-functional initiatives across Product, Platform, AI, Automation, Governance, and Global IT while shaping long term roadmap direction.
• Support sprint execution, remove delivery risks, oversee on-call processesand issue escalation processes, and promote responsible GenAI assisted engineering practices.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or closely related technical field followed by 8 years of progressively responsible data and/or software engineering experience, including demonstrated leadership and management responsibilities OR Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or closely related technical field and 6 years of progressively responsible data and/or software engineering experience, including demonstrated leadership and management responsibilities.
• Typically, 1 - 3 years of management experience; or equivalent experience as the subject matter lead orexpert in area of expertise.
• Demonstrated experience leading engineering teams whilemaintainingstrong technical credibilitywith a strong abilitytocommunicatecomplex topicstoall levels
• Deepexpertisein Snowflake andmodern data integration patterns and architectures
• Strong experience and understanding of AWS and its cloud services, security and architecture is preferred.
• Advanced SQL and Python programming skills
• Hands on Experience on Apache Airflow is mandatory.
• Strongunderstanding of data replication patterns, databasedesignanddata storageformats
• Experience integrating SAP, Salesforce,3rdPartyandother globalenterprise platforms
• Proven CI/CD and DevOps implementation experience
• Strong understandingand adherenceof security-by-design and privacy-by-design principles
• Experience enabling AI/ML or GenAI-ready data platforms.

WORKPLACE LOCATION:

Location: This individual must reside within commuting distance from our office.

Work Schedule: This role follows a hybrid work schedule, requiring 4 days in-office per week.
