Interim VP Operations (Consultant) – Immediate Interim Opportunity
Reports to: Head of Operations
Duration: 3–6 months
Client: Global food manufacturing company
Our client is seeking a senior operations leader to provide oversight of an entire site while driving a critical culture change initiative. The ideal interim hire will bring experience in leading plant operations, coaching teams, and ensuring operational excellence while mentoring the production staff to become a model of professionalism, accountability, engagement and efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Conduct assessment of plant operations and people and recommend improvements.
- Create and implement a culture‑change plan to enhance collaboration, accountability and professionalism.
- Coach and mentor the production team to become a sophisticated producer, encourage continuous improvement and serve as a business partner across the organization.
- Manage the production floor, leading, coaching and mentoring staff to ensure quality, accuracy and efficiency.
- Oversee inventory of materials and finished goods to maintain high service levels while controlling operating costs and delivery performance.
- Develop innovative, cost‑effective systems and processes that enable growth and efficiency while measuring results.
- Coordinate daily production schedules.
- Monitor compliance with health and safety procedures and take appropriate action for non‑conformances, contributing to continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Several years of experience managing an entire production facility, ideally in food, consumer goods or pharmaceutical sectors.
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills; influential and inspirational leader.
- Advanced project management, analytical and organizational skills.
- General knowledge of environmental health and safety regulations.
- Passion for making a difference within a small facility; pride in product quality and consistency; team player who translates business objectives to front‑line action.
